Gettysburg, a 3 day battle, was the bloodiest of the Civil War. But it was a much needed victory and turning point for the Union Army. This, though, came at a cost of over 50,000 in this one battle alone. le! The battles here seemed to be a giant chess game except that the instead of plastic pieces, these were real men with real families and loved ones with real hopes and fears. All showed extraordinary bravery; many gave their lives and many more gave their health to their cause.
